News from Montgomery [3.27.16]

3/27, Hi everyone, hope everyone  had a nice Easter Sunday.   The weather sure has been wonderful, the sun has been shining bright and beautiful blue skies.  Sonny, Penny and me went out on the porch this afternoon, it’s a bit unpleasant to sit there very long as the road dust is horrible.  Plus the wind started feeling a bit colder and Sonny felt a bit of a chill from it.  Each day he is feeling better!!   Our Church service was well attended this morning and it seemed real gooood to have Cordy  von Conta back playing the organ for us.  She had taken a leave of absence during the cold months.  There were many beautiful Spring flower to decorate the altar that were given in memory of loved ones.  Once I was home from Church, Sonny had received a call from Veronica, and she and daughter Samantha, son Tyler Elkins and his son Zavi and girlfriend Sarah were on their way over.  They all arrived safely for a short visit to visit Dad/Papa and then they were on their way.  It has been a wonderful day and have heard from our five Children, wishing us a Happy Easter and sending Get Well wishes to their Dad.

3/7-23/,  Maggie Elkins has returned home from Florida, where she went to visit her sister’s.  Maggie was invited to come for two weeks with her sister Susie and Dick Ewins, and she also got to visit with Joanne Kane.  They all enjoyed playing golf, getting together with other friends that were in Florida for a real great time.  They also went out for dinners, shopping and having a hoot singing with their friends.  You would just have to be there to enjoy our wonderful fun times.

3/23, Sonny came home from the hospital.  He is doing well, obeying the Doctor’s orders .  Also again he has enjoyed all the get well wishes and they continue to come, by cards or phone calls or nice visits. Thank-You!!!

3/25, Our son Frank and wife Karen came up from Derry, N.H.  We had a nice dinner at noon time for them and then after spending  time visiting, they had made arrangements with their daughter-in-law Kerri Lumbra and grandson Teddy to come down before they had to leave.   Our little great grandson Teddy is growing like a weed, has 8 teeth already, standing and trying to walk, he will be one on May 30th.  Before they left they got to say Hello to Penny, as she was just coming into town with the school children to be left off for the day.

3/25,  Sally Newton has returned home after accompanying her daughter-in-law Martha Newton  on a trip to China.  They had a wonderful time and toured many-many tourist attractions.  Sorry to hear that Sally came back with a bad cold.  Once you feel better you can tell us more about your trip.  Get better soon!!!

3/26, Jodi Walker and Stacey St.Onge had an Easter egg hunt Saturday afternoon for their children and a few other children from the neighborhood.  The ladies hid large and small eggs on the St.Onge property  next door to us. It was a fantastic time for all and everyone went home with baskets of goodies.

Note:  The United Methodist Women have scheduled their Spring Rummage and Bake Sale for May 7, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. and we are now accepting clean rummage during the month of April, preference Spring and Summer clothing.  Leave on the Church steps at your convenience. Thank You!!
