News from Montgomery [10.16.16]

Written by Lois Lumbra – 10/16, Been a day of a little rain, sunshine, clouds, and wind.  We celebrated Laity Sunday at Church today, Merle VanGieson led the service  in the absence of  our Pastor.  Taking part in the service was, Klaus Voos, Vivian Deuso, and Sandy Bowman.  After our Fellowship time, it was almost time to head to the Turkey Dinner at St.Isidore’s Parish Hall.  That was a lot of work for all the cooks, all the tables were full at the first setting, and a few for the second setting.  I volunteered to help out if they needed me, and I was called upon to help serve and that was very rewarding and fun for me.  As far as I know they did not run out of any food.  It was all so delicious!!!  THANKS TO ALL THAT WORK SO WELL TOGETHER AND PUT ON A GREAT MEAL!!!  Also THANKS to everyone serving, cleaning tables, etc.  I do not want anyone to go unnoticed as everyone was important to get everyone fed and you all did a SUPER  JOB!!!   Thanks Everyone!!!

Last Saturday  (10/8) Robert Gendron and Gary Wetherbee installed the new sign at the Montgomery for the Arts.  We would like to Thank Robert for donating his time and energy making this beautiful sign.  Gary helped with the installation and securing of the sign.  Without the generous help of our Community we could not tackle this project.  THANK-YOU, Robert and Gary!!!  The sign looks fantastic!

10/11, The 500 Card Club met at the home of Betsy Snider, hosted by Lois Lumbra, we all gathered at 11:30 to have an early luncheon, Lois had prepared a veggie/beef soup, homemade bread, and a oatmeal cake with the coconut frosting, she had snacks of crackers and cheese and Halloween candy.  The playing went well for many and not so well for others, but that’s the way it goes.  Carmen Scott had high score, second high went to Therese Begnoche, and most horses was won by Betsy,  she and Linda VanGieson had the same amount and drew high card for the winner.  Betsy will host the November meeting.
