News from Montgomery [12.26.16]

It’s Monday morning and here I’am finishing this column. Got mixed up with the days, this time of year. Finally a little message came to me, that this was not done. Been taking the decorations off the tree and will put that back upstairs later, with the help of my hubby.

12/10, Merle and Linda VanGieson enjoyed an early Christmas gathering at the home of her daughter Sheri in Colchester that was hosted by sister-in-law Karen. Karen is the wife of Charlie Bushey. In attendance were daughter Laurie; Grandchildren Danielle, April, and Nathan; great grandchildren Tanner, Brionna and April. The grown-ups opened their gifts and had fun with the Yankee Swap. A wonderful day came to an end after having a very enjoyable time. 12/24-25. Shari hosted her Christmas Eve Party at her home with family and friends coming and bringing special dishes of goodies to share. It was a fantastic, fun-filled party and games were played, just a wonderful time together.!!!

12/20. Gila Domina and daughter Ruth and hubby Jim Smith returned home after enjoying 10 days in Florida with son/brother Michael. It was hot down there Gila told me.

12/20, Maggie Elkins, sister Grace and husband Bill Jones from Essex, brother Paul and wife Dorothy Lamoureux gathered at the home of their sister Susie and her husband Dick Ewins, of West Berkshire, where they hosted an early Christmas party. Earlier in the year they draw names, during December they get together, bring and share pot-luck, share memories and then its time to go home. Our day just seemed to fly by.

12/19-1/2, Lorraine St.Onge came up from her Florida home to enjoy the Christmas holiday with her families and friends.

12/23, Our Daughters Veronica DeSaintPhalle and Penny came and had lunch with us. Veronica came to bring Christmas gifts before she went to Mass. to visit with her son Tyler Elkins and grandson Zavi. Then on Saturday she was invited to her brother Frank and Karen’s home in N.H. for Christmas dinner. A wonderful time was had, just the time flew by. She returned home on Sunday.

Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service held at the United Methodist Church was so beautiful and almost a full house in attendance.

I hope everyone had a wonderful fun-filled Christmas with their Families.

This is the last column from me, the year just flew by, didn’t it? HAPPY NEW YEAR AND GOD BLESS!
