News from Montgomery [11.26.17]

Good-bye to November and it has been a busy month and is rapidly coming to an end. When I came downstairs this morning to a snow storm, the roads were covered with snow and the temperature kept falling throughout the forenoon. It was so beautiful ..a winter wonderland. The wind is coming up this afternoon and clearing the snow off the trees. By the time you get your Courier on Thursday this will be just a memory as its suppose to warm up again this week. It feels like we are going to be on the roller-coaster weather pattern again. Next Sunday, December 3, is the beginning of ADVENT SEASON and we will be decorating our Church during the morning worship service starting at 9 a.m. with our new Pastor Bonnie Hovermann. It’s also Communion Sunday!!

11/21.. I attended the Community Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service held at the United Church in Franklin, Vt. I accompanied Sandy Bowman, Margie Harrocks and Zina Chaffee, also in attendance from town were John, Sharon and Jonny Youland. This was a very uplifting service with many people in attendance. All the local clergy were taking part in Bible readings, Prayers, Hymns and the Sermon was given by Rev. Titus Pressler. It was all so well done and I take this time in my column to say THANK-YOU for all Participants for a wonderful Thanksgiving Service.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Dinner with Family and Friends. I know we did, Thanks to Sally and John Newton and Penny Lumbra for their invite and to include our family members Ray and Betty Courville , and Veronica deSaintPhalle. We all were Thankful to be together and enjoyed such delicious food. Locally Maggie Elkins had her daughter Kelly Maxfield and Family and son Clay, were home where they could enjoy Mom’s delicious food. Gila Domina had son Mike and friend Sal up from Mass. and daughter Ruth & hubby Jim Smith and grandchildren. I hope EVERYONE had a wonderful time with their Family and Friends as they sat down to enjoy their Thanksgiving Dinner. God Bless us ALL!!!
