9/2..The 46th Mayhew Family reunion was held over Labor Day weekend. On Sunday, 123 relatives showed up for a Pot-Luck Luncheon, and business meeting at St.Isidore’s Parish Hall and then from there onto Mike Pratt’s Rental Property on the Amidon Road where over 200 family members enjoyed horse-shoes, volleyball tournament and a talent show hosted by Larry and Marge Cummings. A campfire and s’mores were enjoyed during the evening as we gathered around the campfire.
A wonderful time was enjoyed by all.
9/3..WELL, Sonny said we finally got a thunder shower here in town, and a good amount of rain. That has made our green beans come back and now producing once again, and the grass will continue to grow. Its unreal from one week to another how fast the leaves are changing into their Fall colors.
9/6..Linda Van Gieson wanted me to accompany her to St.Albans, where we had made plans to pick my daughter Veronica DeSaintPhalle up as she was having work done on their truck at Handy’s. So we connected with her there, from there we shopped at Walmarts, then went to Pebbles and met up with my sister-in-law Roberta Martin and her daughter Pamela Harris and then after shopping there, we gathered for lunch at Pie-in-the-Sky. We all enjoyed our delicious lunch and went for dessert at Yogurt City. Then Linda and I headed for home once saying our Good-byes, and Roberta, Pam and Veronica ventured downtown St.Albans and had a wonderful afternoon before the truck was completed around 4 p.m.
9/7.. Eleven members of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds met at Brookside Campgrounds in Enosburg for “Wine & Cheese” an annual event the ladies have enjoyed throughout the years. Diane Bocian reported to me everyone had such a great time and enjoyed the wagon ride around the properties. (Sadly I went over with Diane but had to leave because of my allergies to softwood trees) Diane took me down the road to my sister-in-laws home and I was going to call my hubby to come over and pick me up, but niece Pamela insisted on bringing me home once she and her Mother Roberta had made me feel better with their love and kindness..THANK YOU!!!

Sadness hit this town again with the passing of Mike Celantano, he and his wife made their home here in town until the ‘97 flood destroyed their new home down across from the new ball field. Sincere Sympathy to his Family and Friends with our Prayers and Love to all.
**Tell me Mr. Smith, said the marriage counselor, after several sessions, did you wake up grouchy, this morning? No, said Mr. Smith, I let her sleep. This is all for this week folks. M.L.T.A.
