What a wonderful sunny afternoon, the leaves are so golden and slowly falling down. We put some storm windows on this afternoon. It says cool weather this week and its time to button up. We celebrated the five new members that joined our Church on September 23rd, with gifts of a new Bible to each of them with their names on the front in gold; and we ended with a brunch in the fellowship hall. There were 18 of us in attendance, each person bringing something to share. Congratulations to Nord Hovermann, Lyndol and Lila Elkins , Frank and Linda Elkins. God Bless you!!
10/4..Maggie had her sisters-in-law Janice Adams and Maxine Farrar in for dinner while they were in town to attend the United Methodist Church rummage and bake sale. They enjoyed lunch and then sat around and visited before returning home. 10/6..Maggie and her sisters Joanne Kane, Grace Jones and Susie Ewins planned a pot-luck luncheon and to play cards, their last gathering before Joanne will soon be going to her Florida home. On 10/8 Grace Jones invited Susie Ewins and Maggie Elkins to join her for their annual day of playing golf at beautiful West Bolton Country Club. It was truly a wonderful day, and they had so much fun. 10/11..Kelly Maxfield came to accompany her mother Maggie E. to St.Albans and each had some shopping to do and on their return home they had lunch together before Kelly returned home in Johnson.
10/9..Seven members of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds went to Fairfield for the senior lunch which turned out to be a brunch. They were all greeted and welcomed at the door with open arms. With six homemade buffet choices, warm homemade applesauce, pastry, juices and coffee. There was just no way anyone would go away hungry. There was music before and after our meal as we got caught up visiting with friends. There was warmth and sincerity to all of us and we hope to make a return visit. THANK-YOU, Fairfield for making a wonderful day for us! (notes by, D.Bocian )
10/9. The October 500 Card Club was held at the Dairy Center Restaurant with all members present, with Lois Lumbra as hostess. We all enjoyed the Chicken –n-Biscuit dinner. 10/10.The Autumn Luncheon was held at the Montgomery Arts Center with a good attendance, all of us enjoying delicious hot dishes, spoon bread, cookies, chocolate cake brought in by Cindy Weed, then there was cold beverage. Thanks to the cooks Sharon Perry, Wendy Howard, Melissa Haberman, Chef Joey Buttendorf, and Joe Gilmartin. Thanks to all volunteers Chloe Hardy, Kenny Smith, Mark Baddorf, Sebastian Araujo, and Joe Zartarian and the Snowshoe Crew for lending supplies. Sue Baddorf started this Fellowship Luncheon a few months ago and she did not include her name when she gave me the list of Volunteers..she plans with the cooks, when to have a meal, she prepared the Invitations and delivered them door to door, picked up people and drove them to the hot meal site and back home after. This has given many people a time to fellowship with others in the Community. Mark and Sue Baddorf said their “Good –Byes” to all in attendance, Cindy Weed had a card of Thanks for everyone to sign for them and a beautiful bracelet was given to Sue. They are returning to Maryland to be closer to their new granddaughter.

**Why don’t you come to my house for supper tonight said the first Cannibal, “we’re having my mother-in-law.” “ But I don’t like your mother-in-law “ said the second Cannibal.. “All Right, then just come for dessert and c coffee.” With Halloween just around the corner, I thought most of you would get a laugh out of this one. Have a nice week. M.L.T.A.
