By Lois Lumbra—WOW-WEEE!!! What a beautiful Sunday afternoon, after a very frost morning. Brrrrr! Just does not seem like we are getting this nice weather, sad for the ski areas. Plus many of us do not get into the holiday spirit, reminds me of what it must be like in Florida. Talked with Betty Moquin today and she said it was real nice there and I said its real nice here. By the way she said she is feeling much better down there. That is nice to hear. Keep well all our Vermont friends that go South for the winter.
12/1/15, The Montgomery Ladies 500 Card Club met at the lovely home of Rita St.Onge in Enosburg, she had invited everyone to come for lunch at noon time. We all arrived on time and enjoyed a nice luncheon that she had provided for us. We were ready to play cards a little before one and as usual there are ones that get good hands and good bids. Carmen took high score for the afternoon and I was second high (Thanks to my good partners) and most horses went to Linda VanGieson. Denise Baker will host the January meeting at her home on the 12th at noon time. Rita had snacks and drinks of coffee, tea or sodas for everyone. We all had a very enjoyable afternoon. Sue Peters will be our new player starting in January. Rita St.Onge and Helen Parent will continue to be called upon as a sub when needed.
Just a little word to remind people of the Christmas Craft Show at the Elementary School this coming Saturday, December 12th, starting at 9 -3. Lots of vendors will be coming, there will be breakfast and luncheon food available, lots and lots of crafts. This is on route 118 between the Village and Center..watch for signs.
This coming Sunday, December 13, at noontime, the Montgomery Covered Bridges Garden Club members and their partners are invited to attend the Christmas Gathering at the Home of Tony and Sue Peters, on Fuller Bridge Road. RSVP recommended but not 100% necessary by calling Sue or Tony at 326-4817. We are asked to bring finger-foods to share, BUT no cut fingers in the food…gotta have some humor just for SUE!!!
