By Lois Lumbra — 2/5… This has been a week for snow accumulations, we have had 20 inches of snow here in the Village area and more on the hills. I have been out shoveling nearly every day and have enjoyed being out in the fresh air. It has been difficult at times living so close to the main road to get the crap from the streets plowed into our walk /driveway. BUT it has to be done. This afternoon as I start this column it is misting. I just hope we don’t get more icy conditions.
Last week I wrote about Frank Elkins, he was taken from Northwestern Medical in St.Albans to Burlington at the University of Vermont Medical Center on Tuesday and he was operated on Friday. I called and talked with him this afternoon 2/11 and he is doing well and hopefully will be taken back to St. Albans to a Rehab Center for physical therapy. This was a long and disappointing time for Frank and wife Linda. NOW, we can all breathe again as he is doing well. HE will still need our prayers and support.
Randy St.Onge and son Thomas went down to Deltona, Florida, Lorraine was celebrating her birthday on 2/4 and Thomas went to surprise his grandmother. Maybe he and his grandmother celebrated together, as Thomas had a birthday 2.10.
2/10… Ava Walker celebrated her 10th Birthday with her with 10-12 of her community friends and cousins from Williston, Vt. ; by having a sliding party held at the home of her grandparents John and Barbara Walker on South Richford Road. They have the perfect hill to slide on. Mother Jodi, Grandmother Barbara and neighbor Maggie Elkins had the Birthday room decorated with hearts and lights. It was just beautiful. The girls enjoyed dancing once they had all had snacks and made their own ice cream sundae’s. Jodi had purchased all kinds of goodies for ice cream toppings. Everyone had a fabulous time! Ava’s B/day date is February 6, and the family had celebrated earlier with supper and a Birthday Cake.
I got a notice that the Town Reports will be available on Feb. 19, can be picked up at local stores and the Library and Town Clerks office.
Happy Birthday to; Bernie Boucher 2/21; Jake Webster and Kalisha Brooks 2/22; Morgan Daybell, Bernie Cousino, Dale Delisle, Gracie Lanphear 2/24. (my apologies to Avery Gaudioso and Harper Rae Bredin I had omitted their birthdays on Feb 7) Sure hope you had a wonderful Birthday!!!
Anniversary wishes to Richard and Prudy Ryea 2/20.
After a quarrel –wife said to her husband, “you know, I was a fool when I married you” he replied “yes dear but I was in love and didn’t notice.” A fellow puts an ad in the paper and says WIFE WANTED. The next few days he got 50 responses saying, “You Can Have Mine.”
This is all folks and hope you all had a nice Valentine’s Day with that someone SPECIAL!!! L.T.A.
