By Lois Lumbra —We had a nice week of pretty decent weather and hopefully the same for this week.  Sap is dripping well today, and Connor Walker is boiling what he gathered yesterday.  He said he has made around two gallons so far.   He has around 60 taps.   The nice sunshine has brought out the neighbors children and their bicycles. Spring has sprung!!!  Its nice seeing them out playing and having fun!!!

3.8, The Ladies 500 Card Club met at the lovely home of Jeannette and Ronnie Sylvesters in St.Albans.  Jeannette had invited everyone for noontime, she had prepared lunch for everyone, she  made a delicious corn chowder and sandwiches, and a fabulous dessert that finished filling us up.   We were ready to play cards fifteen minutes before one and the cards were being dealt out.  I over heard a few  times that cards had to be dealt over to get a good hand, that’s always typical. The end of the afternoon, Theresa Begnoche had high score of 3100, second high was Lorraine Gillis with 2910, and most horses went to Linda VanGieson, low score to Jo Cota and she received a jar of apple jam, thanks to Betsy Snider.   Jo will host the next meeting on April 12, and she said to come at noontime.  It was a beautiful afternoon and the roads were nice and dry for traveling.  There were no subs needed.  We all enjoyed a great afternoon!!

Its St.Patricks Day this Thursday and I want to wish everyone a nice day.  Here’s a little chuckle for you to enjoy.   “May the wind at your back, not be the results of the corned beef and cabbage you ate for dinner.” Knock, Knock.  Who’s there? Irish, Irish Who? Irish you a Happy St. Patricks Day!!

That’s all for this time, hope you are having a nice week.
