By Lois Lumbra — First of all I want to welcome to the Montgomery Village Post Office our new Postal Support Employee (PSE) Irissa Choquette from Berkshire, Congratulations and Welcome!
I think our cold weather is just getting here, has our seasons changed in order. It has been a good season for the sugar makers. That is nice to hear, as it’s a big job to all that tap, gather and boil. I know there are many that have the sap flowing right to the sugar house with pipe lines. But even that entails a lot of work to clean all those lines and tapping the trees. Good Luck to you all!!! Our young neighbors Connor, Liam and Ava Walker and friends have done well also.
3/29, Joseph and Josie Lisaius from Burlington, Sonny’s cousins came to visit him. They were at “The Farm” on North Hill checking in on things. Josie’s Parents purchased the Lumbra property a few years ago. It was a nice surprise and visit.
4/2, Sally and John Newton came up to visit with Sonny, Sally was feeling much better, she had a terrible cold and cough once back from her trip to China. Then our oldest daughter Veronica came over from Johnson with goodies and stayed for a visit. Sonny has been very appreciative of all his get well wishes and Thanks so very much. Friday 4/1 was the completion of all the medicine and his stomach feels better day by day. Some of those prescription meds are rough on the stomach, now I hope all is healed inside and he will be as good as NEW!!!
4/10, This Sunday there will be a “Blood Drive” at St. Isidore’s Parish Hall starting at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Hosted by the Montgomery Local Shelter Team and Emergency Services. Local raffles with prizes donated by Bernie’s Restaurant and Sylvester’s Market. To schedule an appointment go to redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-red-cross. Walk-ins are always welcome!! Laugh lines. A recent study has found out that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it. I don’t mean to brag, but I finished my weight watchers diet in 3 hours and 20 minutes.** Have a nice cool week folks that’s what’s in store for us.
