By Lois Lumbra — YIPPEE!!! What a gorgeous afternoon, and it energizes me to get out and start raking the lawn. I will go out for awhile after I complete the column. 4/10 a.m. Could not send or receive any emails on Sunday, so will finish this morning. I did go out and rake the sticks and debris off the lawn while it was so nice out and a joy to get out without that cold wind. Our grandson David Newton stopped by to have a chat with us and that is always nice.
4/8..Kerri Lumbra and son Teddy from Colorado have arrived here in town to visit her parents, Todd and Lori Pennell and other family members and friends for the week.
4/4..Merle and Linda Van Gieson, Sally Newton, Lyndol and Lila Elkins and myself attended the funeral of our Pastor Ed Sorrell and wife Judy’s mother Mary Greenia. The service was officiated by Rev. Bonnie Hoverman and Pastor Ed took part. Vivian Deuso had attended the wake with her friend Bob. Minor Funeral Home of Milton handled all the arrangements. Interment will be held on May 12 in Essex, Vt.
Sincere Sympathy to Darlene Marrier and Family in the loss of her father Frederick Murray. (May the love and support of family and friends be a comfort to you during this time of loss) God Bless!!
4/8.. I woke up around 4 a.m. and heard the snow plow and as always that sound gets the best of me and I have to come downstairs and see what is going on. It was like a blizzard outside with the wind and snow whirling around. I went back to bed and later got up for the day at 6:30. I would guess we had around 3-4 inches and the trees were like a winter-wonderland, just beautiful!! I did not have to shovel much only to clear off the porch. The higher elevations got more and Sonny said “they would probably be skiing on Jay until July.” We have some nice weather coming in this week so that should diminish the snow quite a bit. The Ski areas have had a wonderful season and that snow has been a blessing!!!
4/13..Pastor Ed Sorrell will be doing a Maundy Thursday Service here at the United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. (Easter Sunday if you want to bring Spring Flowers to place on the Altar, either in memory or honor, will be greatly appreciated…reminder our new time of worship is 9 a.m.) Patrick Evans from Bakersfield is our new organist since Cordelia von Conta retired.
Happy Birthday to..Emma Roger, Dana Elkins, Terry Goss 4/16; Cary O’Bar 4/17; Margie Harrocks, David Martinson, Joe Sherman, Alan Kalsmith, David Brown, Mike Abramowitz 4/18; Darlene Marrier 4/19; Karen Soule 4/21; Amy Hurlbut, Joshua and Branden Ryea 4/22.
Anniversary Wishes to.. Sonny and Ann Cote; Devon and Kerri Lumbra.
”How many people attend your church,” one Pastor asked another. “Sixty regulars and about 200 C and E.” was the reply. “C and E?” asked the first. “Yes, Christmas and Easter.”
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL THE READER’S OF THIS COLUMN, GOD BLESS!!
Love to all!!
