By Lois Lumbra — Wow!! The weatherman hit it right this time, its sure a hot-humid day. Thankfully we are getting some nice breeze this afternoon at 86 degrees. Veronica and Penny came and had dinner with us to be with their Dad on Father’s Day. We had a nice time. Then they were off and the house once again quiets down. I cooked some pork in the crock-pot and we had pulled pork sandwiches..I really liked it. It was the first time I made it. Veronica showed us pictures of her first grandson Jayden Royer’s graduation pictures, he graduated from Lamoille Union High on 6/17.

6/13..The 500 Card Club met at the lovely home of Sue and Tony Peters. Sue had invited us all for a luncheon and she had prepared a cold carrot/ginger soup, a salad, cold drinks and a rhubarb cake for dessert. We were all ready to start playing at our usual time of one o’clock. No Subs today. Carmen Scott had high score (4370), Denise Baker had second high (3220) and most horses went to Connie McFarland (7) and Jo Cota had low score (930) Sue gave her a beautiful potted plant. Carmen will host the July meeting at her home. The afternoon was wonderful everyone enjoyed the opened windows with a cool breeze coming in on us. Thanks SueP.!!

6/14.. We go from very extreme heat to shivering. We had 40 degrees to begin last Wednesday!! Can’t put the sweatshirts away yet!!

Mike Domina and friend Sal were up this week from Massachusetts. They go to Florida for a few months during the cold months. Mike was here to visit his Mom Gila and while they were here cleaned out the flower beds around the house and got their paintings set up in the “Red Barn Studio.” Mike has several beautiful watercolor pictures at his studio for sale.

Busy-busy afternoon here in town with all the tractors and hay being hauled to the barn. There is a threat of a storm for Monday. (Will see.)

Not to Clean..

Dick, aged 3, did not like soap and water. One day his mother was trying to reason with him. “Surely you want to be a clean little boy, don’t you?” “Yes,” tearfully agreed Dick. “But can’t you just dust me off?”

Hope we all have a nice week and enjoy it. M.L.T.A.
