By Lois Lumbra — I start this column all times of the week, but today 6/19, I’m getting a head start as its cool this morning and I have almost an hour before Church. I was talking with Maggie Elkins a little while ago and while we were on the phone a baby deer came walking out by St.Onge’s garage. I was in hopes of seeing it but to late, it went in a different direction than me. Boo-Hoo!!! Penny showed us a short video of a turkey and her five babies walking through the field looking for bugs. They were so cute!!! Frank and Karen Lumbra stopped on the highway on their way up Saturday to allow a mother duck and her babies cross the road. I love these animal stories, Thanks for sharing!!
Recent visitors at the home of Gaston and Theresa Begnoche were children of the folks that they purchased their homestead from several years ago, (Mongeon) Chaude Mongeon and twin sister Claudette Pigeon surprised them and they had an enjoyable time reminiscing.
6/12, Theresa and Gaston Begnoche had a Birthday gathering for their daughter Susan Paradis, granddaughter Abigail, great grandson William McMahon, and friend Brent Godin for a Brunch prepared by Theresa. Sounds great..and many more Happy Birthday’s Susan.
6/18, Family and Friends of Sonny Lumbra came together at Lake Eden for a B-B-Q, with Andre’ DesaintPhalle at the Grill. We were celebrating June birthday’s and Anniv. and Father’s Day. Jacob Lumbra 6/18, Sonny Lumbra celebrating his 80th 6/24, Frank and Karen Lumbra celebrating their 10th Anniv. 6/24, Natalie Royer will be 10 on 6/25..we were hoping for the 24th, Samantha Royer 6/29. Many years ago when we had a volkswagon..we were at Vincents swimming hole, Sonny thought that the car would float, so he drove it out with all of us in the car, and we DID NOT float we SANK..the car very quickly filled half full with water. The kids used the front of the car to dive off into the water. Well the memories of that day were glued in Veronica’s brain and she had a cake made up for her Father’s 80th. It was hilarious and sooooo professionally done. It sure was a surprise to all of us. We had such nice weather and speaking of weather..Sharon Myer of WCAX called us once back home to wish Sonny a H/B. as we have enjoyed her for so many years. (Thanks to Andre’ and Veronica) Sonny told her the only weather predictions he doesn’t care for are the days it stays 20 below. It was a fun day!!!
6/18, Maggie Elkins accompanied her sister Susie and husband Dick Ewins; sister Joanne Kane, brother Paul and Dorothy Lamoureux all attended their sister Grace and Bill Jones 55th wedding anniversary.
