Chairperson for Civil Defense (appointed): Responsible for the organization, administration, and operation of the local committee that is formed for emergency management in the town or city. The emergency management chairperson is under the direct control of the selectboard but may coordinate his or her emergency management efforts with neighboring towns and cities, and with the state emergency management division and the federal government.

Vermont 2-1-1 – A statewide, confidential information and referral helpline that connects callers to available human services including food, shelter and healthcare.
Vermont Emergency Management – Helps communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Offers free emergency training for community officials, emergency responders, and those who want to become responders.
American Red Cross of Northern New England – Serves the 3.2 million residents of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Headquartered in Concord, NH.
