The Town of Montgomery is intending to use federal grant funds from a Fiscal Year 2022 Congressional Appropriation to partially fund the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant. A previous environmental assessment (EA) and Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSI) determination was issued for this project by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development in August 2020. In compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) procedures for implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), EPA has completed an independent environmental review of the potential impacts relative to the Town of Montgomery Wastewater Infrastructure Construction project.
