    Hydrant Replacements/Water Repair ongoing in Center:

    Tuesday 8/12 Update– Hydrant Replacements are continuing down main street in the Center area by the post office/River Street areas and then moving down by the Rec Center. Please note the water may not be shut off the entire time between the time period of 10a-4pm however we want users to continue to be aware that water usage will be off /or intermittent during most of the designated time period while the work is conducted.

    (Center Water Users Only) the Town Water Department will need to shut water off from 10am-4pm on the following dates for: HYDRANT REPLACEMENTS & Water line repairs:

    Thursday 8/7

    Friday 8/8

    Monday 8/11

    Tuesday 8/12

    {Village water users will not be affected by this work}

The town has three public spaces that anyone may reserve on a first come first serve basis:

  • Municipal uses such as Town Meeting, regularly scheduled Board/Committee meetings, or Emergency Management operations will take precedence over all such requests or reservations.
  • Fee schedule(s) can be found in the appendices for the PSB Conference Room & Town Hall within their respective policies. The intent of the fee schedule is to help defray the cost incurred over and above the normal usage of these facilities.
  • Use of the Town Common, Covered Bridges, or Town Highways by anyone is free but must be approved by the Selectboard prior to usage.

The Public Safety Building has one conference room which can be reserved for public meetings or can be rented for private usage. Capacity is suited to small groups only (35 or less). Make reservations with the Town Clerk. Review the building policy for details about the Conference Room.

The Town Hall (also known as the Grange) is a historic meeting hall in Montgomery Center best suited for concerts, plays, dinners, large meetings, private receptions, light recreational games, or exercise classes. Max capacity 200 people. Review the Town Hall policy for more details. Make reservations with the Town Hall Committee. Please email: scheduletownhall@gmail.com

The Pavilion at the town recreation center is great for outdoor events and parties. Please call Karen Frascella at Montgomery Properties to make a reservation: (802) 326-4581.

  • There is no fee for residents or non profits but there is a damage deposit of $100 required. Montgomery Properties will check the date for you, fill you in on the procedures, and ask you to fill out an application.
  • If your group is over 50 people you are expected to rent an additional portalet. We also ask that you take out any trash, recycling/returnables, and clean up after your event.
