Northwest Vermont Solid Waste Management District (NWSWD) is a legislatively chartered Municipal Corporation charged with planning, implementing, and regulating waste management strategies for member communities. Montgomery is a current member of this District.

NWSWD holds household hazardous waste collection events May-September in various participating district towns on a rotating basis. Events are open to all residents (no businesses, please) of Grand Isle and Franklin Counties.
